Togi BBQ

Wanjun and me were craving for korean food last week so we decided to check out Togi BBQ at Tripleone Somerset! We had our dinner quite late because we went to shop before dinner despite our growling stomach hahahaha!! There's so much sales going on ok so we (or maybe just me) couldn't control ourselves (myself :p). Anyway, we reached Togi BBQ about 8.30pm and we queued for about 20 mins to get a table. We ordered right after we got seated because we were famished and have already decided what to get when we were queuing hehe! 6 different types of complementary banchan (side dishes) was served with a single serving of porridge before our food came. The banchan were all so yummy especially the kimchi and anchovies!

Spot the little cute drinks! We ordered the pear juice and peach juice and both are so nice and refreshing. As for the food, we ordered a spicy pork belly ($19), spicy stir-fried rice cake with ramen ($13) and a gravy sliced beef soup with glass noodle ($16) to share. Can i say i love everything hahaha especially the beef soup! I was like omg so tasty and can't stop drinking it..haha! Heard that their stew is nice too so there's an excuse to go back again..hehe!

Fresh Fruits Lab

Decided to check out Fresh Fruits Lab with my cafe-hopping buddy after hearing so much good reviews of this cafe. The cafe is located near Kembangan mrt, about 10 mins walking distance. It's designed in a subtle laboratory style and there's some fruits infused food and drinks items on the menu thus the name Fresh Fruits Lab~ Cold pressed juice were served in test tubes while we were browsing through the menu and the friendly service crew told us that those were complementary drinks for the patrons. I love how they served the drinks inside the tubes and also the infused water in the beaker glass. For the food, we ordered beer shroom ($10), fish & chips ($19) and The Club burger ($19) to share. The battered mushroom was served pipping hot with garlic aioli dipping sauce but the portion was too big for 2 of us, we got a little bit sick towards the end. Fish & chips and the burger was pretty good also but we couldn't finish the fries hahaha!

We took so much photos on that day with our newly bought camera/ lens..haha! We even went to a small alley behind the shop and have our ootds taken there..hahaha! The things we did to take nice picture..lol! It feels really good to go out with someone who loves to take photo as much as you do! Cheers to more cafe hopping! :D

Café & Bar Gavroche

This cafe is truly a hidden gem at Tanjong Pagar. I have no idea of the existence of this Parisian ambiance cafe tucked in Tras Street if not for my trusty foodie friend's recommendation who found it through Burple LOL! I fell in love with the decor the moment we stepped into Cafe Gavroche. The cafe is divided into 3 sections: the Bar area which has a 4.2m wooden bar originating from Normandy, the Indoor Terrace section which is a natural light filled space with cobblestone flooring, fringed with an indoor tree and lastly the Dining area that look like a traditional kitchen cum dining area with a long rustic wooden table. The seating were quite limited but we were lucky to get a table in the Terrace which I absolutely love because natural light is the best for photo taking..hahahaha!!

Their breakfast/brunch menu offers a wide range of traditional french food from eggs (done in several ways), sandwiches, open face bread, croissant, charcuterie, cheese platters and desserts, mostly bread i will say..lol! Not complaining though because i love bread hehehe! We have heard good reviews about their open face bread and also the croque madame so we decided to order both to share. And the greedy us also order a croissant and pain au chocolat to start with. The croissant is not bad but i think i had better one before. OK the scrambled egg tartine which is a french style open-face country bread that serve with soft and runny scrambled egg sitting on a bed of caramelized onions is the bomb!! It taste so A M A Z I N G omg every bite is love, simple dish yet so enticing!! Highly recommended!! The croque madame which consists of ham and cheese within two slices of soft and fluffy thick bread and topped with sunny side up was really yummy too!

Overall a very satisfying brunch at Cafe Gavroche and I love that this cafe is not too overcrowded which allow us to enjoy the delicious food in such pretty and Parisian ambiance. Do note that their brunch menu is only available on weekends from 10.30am-2.30pm. Will definitely go back to try the other items on their menu! :D

#21 How would you want to be loved?

Photo taken by S.W using olympus em10
“I want someone who will treat me like their favorite book and book character.
Someone who will sit down with me over tea or coffee with a genuine desire to understand me.
Someone who will grin when they hear my name, remembering my development.
Someone who knows my story already, yet still laughs when I retell it for the 3rd time, and cries at the painful parts even though the pain isn’t their own.
I want someone who will bookmark my dreams and make sure I get to them, one page of life at a time.
Someone who won’t just exchange me for a less damaged version when they notice the cracks in the binding, like my fake smile.
Someone who helps recover the lost pages of my heart that were torn out after my last attempts to love somebody.
Someone who isn’t content with me being alone, and longs for a sequel with them by my side.
I guess at the heart of it all, I want someone that will treat me like something worth salvaging.
I want someone that will help me believe that I am.”

Chapter 55

Chapter 55 is a bistro cafe opened by the people behind Ice Edge Cafe and it was named after its location at Blk 55 Tiong Bahru. Chapter 55 is probably one of the largest cafes that I have visited, the space is so huge that you need not worry about the long waiting time..hehe! We went there on a Fri night and got seated almost immediately without any waiting. Chapter 55 serves a wide range of Italian food such as pizza, pasta, risotto, seafood and etc. As usual, we spent so long to decide what to eat because there are too many choices on the menu! After much consideration we decided to order buffalo wings, bangers and mash, seafood aglio olio and their signature waffle to share. Honestly speaking, I thought their food was quite normal. The bangers and mash was not bad actually, but the aglio olio was really bland..a good aglio olio is indeed hard to find..lol! Their signature chapter 55 gelato waffle comes with 2 options, you can go with 1 scoop or 2 scoops of ice cream and greedy us went for 2 scoops! I think we chose chocolate and mango (or is it passion fruit??) and the portion was really big! Their waffle is more to the fluffiness side which I don't really fancy because I still prefer my waffle to be more crispy and fluffy at the same time..hahaha!
