Sea & Saw by The Roost (Revisit)

*Watch in HD ;)

Revisit Sea & Saw with Joanne couple weeks ago for early dinner because I wanted to try the other items on their menu (the food i had during my 1st visit was not satisfying :x). We reached there around 5 plus and the place was already filled with patrons but lucky us got seated in less than 5 mins..hehe! We ordered a katsuoboshi fries, soy balsamic whole chicken leg and a beef mushroom charcoal burger to share. For the drinks, I ordered a mint mocha but I think they got my order wrong (?) because I can't taste any mint flavor at all..lol! Joanne ordered a honey latte and i thought it was not bad! The food was served pretty fast this time round and I love the mains that we ordered! I have tried both their fries on the menu and I think i still prefer the truffle fries..haha! The beef mushroom burger is the bomb! Love how savory and juicy the patty is..yum yum!! Dessert is a must for us, in fact we went 2 rounds of dessert afterwards hahaha! Anyway we ordered a matcha pie for our dessert and it was really yummy!

More visuals on my 1st visit here :)

Togi BBQ

Wanjun and me were craving for korean food last week so we decided to check out Togi BBQ at Tripleone Somerset! We had our dinner quite late because we went to shop before dinner despite our growling stomach hahahaha!! There's so much sales going on ok so we (or maybe just me) couldn't control ourselves (myself :p). Anyway, we reached Togi BBQ about 8.30pm and we queued for about 20 mins to get a table. We ordered right after we got seated because we were famished and have already decided what to get when we were queuing hehe! 6 different types of complementary banchan (side dishes) was served with a single serving of porridge before our food came. The banchan were all so yummy especially the kimchi and anchovies!

Spot the little cute drinks! We ordered the pear juice and peach juice and both are so nice and refreshing. As for the food, we ordered a spicy pork belly ($19), spicy stir-fried rice cake with ramen ($13) and a gravy sliced beef soup with glass noodle ($16) to share. Can i say i love everything hahaha especially the beef soup! I was like omg so tasty and can't stop drinking it..haha! Heard that their stew is nice too so there's an excuse to go back again..hehe!

Fresh Fruits Lab

Decided to check out Fresh Fruits Lab with my cafe-hopping buddy after hearing so much good reviews of this cafe. The cafe is located near Kembangan mrt, about 10 mins walking distance. It's designed in a subtle laboratory style and there's some fruits infused food and drinks items on the menu thus the name Fresh Fruits Lab~ Cold pressed juice were served in test tubes while we were browsing through the menu and the friendly service crew told us that those were complementary drinks for the patrons. I love how they served the drinks inside the tubes and also the infused water in the beaker glass. For the food, we ordered beer shroom ($10), fish & chips ($19) and The Club burger ($19) to share. The battered mushroom was served pipping hot with garlic aioli dipping sauce but the portion was too big for 2 of us, we got a little bit sick towards the end. Fish & chips and the burger was pretty good also but we couldn't finish the fries hahaha!

We took so much photos on that day with our newly bought camera/ lens..haha! We even went to a small alley behind the shop and have our ootds taken there..hahaha! The things we did to take nice picture..lol! It feels really good to go out with someone who loves to take photo as much as you do! Cheers to more cafe hopping! :D

Chapter 55

Chapter 55 is a bistro cafe opened by the people behind Ice Edge Cafe and it was named after its location at Blk 55 Tiong Bahru. Chapter 55 is probably one of the largest cafes that I have visited, the space is so huge that you need not worry about the long waiting time..hehe! We went there on a Fri night and got seated almost immediately without any waiting. Chapter 55 serves a wide range of Italian food such as pizza, pasta, risotto, seafood and etc. As usual, we spent so long to decide what to eat because there are too many choices on the menu! After much consideration we decided to order buffalo wings, bangers and mash, seafood aglio olio and their signature waffle to share. Honestly speaking, I thought their food was quite normal. The bangers and mash was not bad actually, but the aglio olio was really bland..a good aglio olio is indeed hard to find..lol! Their signature chapter 55 gelato waffle comes with 2 options, you can go with 1 scoop or 2 scoops of ice cream and greedy us went for 2 scoops! I think we chose chocolate and mango (or is it passion fruit??) and the portion was really big! Their waffle is more to the fluffiness side which I don't really fancy because I still prefer my waffle to be more crispy and fluffy at the same time..hahaha!

SYNC Korean Fusion Bistro

I have to admit that the main reason I want to visit SYNC Bistro is because of their matcha lava cake..haha! SYNC Bistro is located at Westgate which is super duper far away from where i stay. Ever since I moved to Bugis from Boon Lay, i rarely go to the west area..lol! Anyway, I decided to travel down just for the matcha lava cake and i was glad that it didn't disappoint! SYNC Bistro is divided into 2 seating areas which are the indoor air conditioned area and the outdoor alfresco area. We were seated at the outdoor area on that day.

For our appetizer and main, we ordered the Gamja Tukim aka kimchi cheese fries ($6.90), jap chae ($11.90), topokki ($7.90) and ja jang myeon ($12.90) to share. Some might think the combination of kimchi and cheese fries will be kinda weird but the spiciness of the kimchi actually balance the dish and make the cheese fries less gelat to eat! The topokki that topped with fried shallots and bacon bits was so yummy plus the egg was a lava egg, not your usual ordinary hard boiled egg..lol!! This was the first time i had ja jang myeon and i thought the taste was pretty unique! The jap chae here was really yummy too!

Ok, here comes the highlight of the meal..the lava cakes! We initially ordered a matcha lava to share but it was so nice that we couldn't resist to order another flavor..hehe! I really LOVE their matcha lava cake omg just look at the oozing goodness (insert heart eyes)! The green tea taste is so rich and flavorful but not too overpowering! Every bite is love!!!  The white chocolate red bean lava cake on the other hand was just decent, I would definitely choose matcha lava over red bean lava hehe!

Sushi Zanmai

I've always been a fan of Japanese food especially sashimi, sushi and yakitori! Sushi Zanmai is a well know sushi chain in Kuala Lumpur. I wanted to try Sushi Zanmai when I was in KL couple years ago but didn't get to try it because of the insanely long queue..lol! They recently opened a new outlet in JB so we decided to give it a try. We ordered some sushi, yakitori, grilled saba, gyoza, tamago (my must order whenever i visit a jap restaurant XD) and a sashimi moriawase. My favorite dish is the grilled saba, the fish was grilled to perfection and the meat was so juicy and sweet! Overall i think the food was quite decent but nothing to shout about, price is quite affordable though.

Bornga Korean BBQ Restaurant

My love for korean food never dies. Just some visuals of the food that we had at Bornga few weeks ago. We ordered 2 servings of marinated pork ribs, kimchi soup, seafood pancake and the seafood toppokki to share among 3. A long tray of fresh vegetables was served on every table and this was the 1st time I saw so much varieties of vegetable for us to wrap the bbq meat in a korean bbq restaurant. I love their marinated pork ribs a lot, wanted to try the beef one but my parents don't take beef so next time maybe! The seafood pancake was really delicious too, their version was a bit thicker and fluffy like egg omelette but it still remain crispy! Need not say more, Bornga has easily become one of my favorite korean restaurant in JB..hehe!
