Bangkok 2016 - Rocket Coffee Bar S49

Rocket Coffee Bar is one of my cafes to go in Bangkok, I have seen so many posts and pictures about this cafe especially the pretty marble tiles. We went there in the early morning and the cafe is quite empty, we literally have the whole cafe by ourselves, hehe! I ordered the scrambled egg (190Baht) with add on mixed mushroom (50Baht) and salmon (120Baht) while Anelie ordered the Roast Pork open faced sandwich (190Baht) with add on salmon (120Baht). You can refer to their food menu here! As for the drinks, I couldn't resist to order the hot cocoa which they serve a large cup of skimmed milk with chocolate ganache popsicle(!!!!) omg! The hot cocoa was really good! Overall, the dishes were nothing wow but it's really nice to have breakfast in this pretty cafe with such nice ambiance before we start our shopping spree!

Bangkok 2016 - The Commons // Roast

theCOMMONS is known as 'Thonglor’s backyard', a place where everyone can spend quality time in the neighborhood while being a little closer to nature. It's opened by the people behind Roast, which was relocated here from Seenspace. (Read my 1st visit here!) The space is divided into 4 sections with different names which are Market, Village, Play Yard and Top Yard.

We had our brunch at Roast, which is located at the entire area of Top Yard. We ordered a roasted tomato soup (180THB), pulled pork burger (320THB), truffle alfredo (280THB) and a crab cake benedict (360THB) to share. The truffle alfredo is the bomb!! Please please order it if you are visiting Roast! Their homemade tagliatelle is so good, and cooked to the perfect doneness in rich truffle cream sauce, definitely one of the best pasta that I've ever had.

Besides Roast, there are also many other cafes and eateries that you can check out at the Commons, definitely worth a visit if you are traveling to Bangkok!

Bangkok 2015 - Casa Lapin x26

This has got to be one of my favorite cafes in Bangkok! We visited Casa Lapin x26 on the 2nd night of our Bangkok trip for dinner. The cafe is located in a quiet area at Sukhumvit 26, around 10 mins walk from Phrong Phong BTS. Apparently Casa Lapin has quite a few branches in Bkk and the one we went is the biggest branch with a hostel, flower shop, co-working place and of course the cafe itself.

The cafe is really really spacious and it offers a good variety of seats from bar table, sofa table and dining area at the back. We were brought to the dining area behind by the friendly staff and we chose a window seats with sofa..hehe! I didn't do any research about the food so we just ordered the items that look appealing to us..lol! For the drinks, we ordered mocha, iced chocolate, lychee tea & thyme and orange & passion fizz. We ordered the green curry with roti for our appetizer and to be honest, we didn't have any expectation for this dish at all but it was so yummy!!! We certainly have higher expectation for our mains after the appetiser. We ordered a spicy carbonara, aglio olio and a beef burger to share and everything was so gooddddddd!!! I couldn't decide which pasta i like more because i lovee their aglio olio but they done the spicy carbonara so good, it was not jelat at all! o.o The beef burger was not bad too but i guess the pasta was too great that it outshone the burger, hahaha!!

The cafe was very quiet on that night with only few tables of guests and i really love the atmosphere there, definitely a great place to chill and relax after a long day of shopping hahaha! Saw some reviews of their hostel as well, would really like to stay at their hostel one day!

Roast Coffee & Eatery (BKK)

Visited Roast Coffee & Eatery on our last day of BKK trip last year. The cafe is one of the most popular cafes in bkk, located in Thonglor area, just beside Mr. Jones Orphanage. It offers a wide range of food, including all day breakfast, salads, soup, sandwiches, pasta, dinner menu and so on! I love their newspaper menu so much!!(omg i just knew that we can actually ask for a copy of the menu, i would have asked for it if i knew T.T) I always thought that the menu plays quite a big part in a restaurant/cafe because that's the thing that every customer will see and i think a nice/unique menu will literally increase one's appetite, or is it just me? HAHA!

Well, I had a hard time choosing what I want to eat because everything looks enticing to me, lol! Was contemplating between pulled pork burger and crab cake benedict and crab cake benedict (350Baht) won me over because i thought it was pretty unique! Shen Sim got herself the cassoulet (300Baht) and we ordered a clam chowder each..hahaha too hungry or what XD I really love my crab cake benedict, the poached egg was done perfectly and everything on the plate was really yummy! The only problem with this dish is the portion was really small! A dessert is a must so we ordered the strawberry waffle (240Baht) to share. The waffle was stuffed with lots of strawberries and i love how fluffy the waffle is! Overall a satisfying brunch at Roast Coffee & Eatery, definitely worth a visit if you are in bkk! :)
