Europe Day 6 Visuals - Switzerland

After much procrastination, I finally came to blog about the last 2 days of my Europe trip last year, lol! Visited Château de Chillon, an island castle located on Lake Geneva. The castle is very big and it consists of 100 dependent buildings that were gradually connected. We explored a small part of the castle only such as the chillon castle crypt, grand hall of the count, the courtyard and a series of bedrooms. Lunch at a small cosy restaurant nearby and we had this very delicious chicken drumstick with pasta aside. The swiss quiche was not bad but i had a hard time taking out the vegetable that I dislike in the pie, hahaha!

Went to Lucerne, a city in north-central Switzerland after lunch to visit the landmark of Lucerne, chapel bridge. It's one of Europe's oldest covered wooden bridges and was restored to its original design after a serious fire. Had some free time here before dinner and we took a stroll around the city. Our tour guide recommended this ice cream from Confiserie Bachmann and of course we have to try it! We joined in the (very long) queue anyway since we have time to spare~ Can't remember what flavor i chose, i think it's mango and chocolate? Lol! The serving was quite big and it was really yummy! Absolutely worth the wait hehe!

Ok this concluded my second last day in Europe..last post of Europe trip should be coming up soon...hehe~

Till then~ :)

I Am & Honeycomb

Spent the first day of 2015 with my bff Joanne. We decided to have our brunch at I Am..Cafe which is a Muslim-owned cafe (not halal certified because they still serve alcohol). It's located along North Bridge Road, just before the entrance of Haji Lane so it's really easy to find this place. We were lucky to get the seat at I Am..Cafe within 5 mins we reached..hehe! We ordered a pizza and fish & chips to share, the pizza was decent but the fish & chips was pretty good! The batter was light and the fish was fresh, recommended to order if you visit this place! The rainbow cake was photogenic and HUGE but it was so sweet and dry so we only manage to eat half of it..meh~ Ohhh on a side note, the rainbow cake from NOM is really good!! x)

As the dessert was not satisfying enough, we decided to go to Honeycomb for the soft serve milk ice cream with fresh honeycomb! Honeycomb offers soft serve/yogurt with 5 flavors which are classic, caramel, chocolate, matcha and apple & cinammon. Every cup comes with a syringe with liquid honey inside and a piece of honeycomb.  We ordered chocolate and matcha flavor and both were quite nice, just that the ice cream melted a little bit too fast, lol!

Did some shopping around Bugis and we went back to my place for manicure..lol! Joanne was the manicurist because im a noob in painting nails, she painted my nails so nicely like a pro! Had so much fun that day with just simple brunch and talking about our BKK trip and all the other stuff..lol! Great start to 2015 with awesome company! :D

The Tiramisu Hero

This was quite some time ago, back in November 2014, lol! I heard about The Tiramisu Hero from a magazine (few years back haha!) and i love how they serve the tiramisu in a cute little jar. I first tried their tiramisu at one of the boutiques along Haji Lane and that was when they were still doing online ordering without a physical store/cafe. Decided to try out this place when i know they opened a physical cafe at Jalan Besar, about 10 mins walk from Lavender mrt!

Fell in love with the decor immediately when we entered the cafe, the interior design is one of the cutest i have ever seen! The walls and ceilings are full with the illustrations of Sir Antonio, the mascot of The Tiramisu Hero and there's even a giant Sir Antonio head on the wall for you to take picture, lol! And also i really love the super cute illustrated menu with the doodles of food and drinks..omg!

For the food, we ordered honey glazed wings ($7.90), aglio olio ($14.90) and thai spicy chicken mini pizza ($10.80) to share. You can totally give the wings a miss, aglio olio was pretty decent, not very fantastic and the portion is rather small but the mini pizza was really nice! On my 2nd visit to the cafe, i tried their bangers with mash potatoes and fresh pasta with truffle & sage. The bangers are not bad but the pasta has this very (super!) bitter taste with it, perhaps it's the sage. Checked with the service staff and according to them, it was the truffle that make the dish so bitter..hmm..ok..lol!

Of course we have to order their signature tiramisu for dessert after our meal, lol! We had a hard time choosing the flavour but we chose the original in the end hahaha! We ordered a dark chocolate lava cake ($12) to share as well. The tiramisu was good, not the best that i have tried but i really love how they package the tiramisu in the jar..hehe! Decided to bring back the jar and the service staff actually offered to give me a clean empty jar, yay!

Overall, i think it's worth a visit though the food there was hit or miss. On a side note, eva's coordinate on that day was coincidentally/perfectly matching with Sir Antonio..haha!!
